Assuming this doesn't lead to them banning passengers from using their own devices, the way movie theaters ban outside food to drive sales of their overpriced popcorn, this could be a great idea. I'm a compulsive window-looker-outer (I'm the person who shows up first at Southwest's gate to be sure of getting a window seat with no wing) and occasional photographer. Still, there are always cloudy days, redeye flights (I'm nocturnal, which makes sleeping on them difficult), and other times I actually turn my eyes away from what we're flying over, and I'd definitely like to turn them toward a rented iPad -- just so I could try one out if for no other reason. The price even sounds reasonable.
