Weyman, Stanley J.: From the Memoirs of a Minister of France. v2. 26 Oct. 2014

Stanley J. Weyman was a prolific writer of historical fiction, and a favourite author of Robert Louis Stevenson, Rafael Sabatini, and Oscar Wilde.

This book was published in 1893, and contains 12 short stories taken from the memoirs of the Duc de Sully, the prime minister of Henri de Navarre, King of France.

I uploaded a mobi version last year; I've proof read this hand made ePub version more thoroughly, and have improved the formatting.

Edit 26 October 2014: Version two has better internal structure and layout, and fewer typos.
