Okay, how 'bout a story where a group of people think they are participating in a realistic simulation on Earth or in orbit... when in reality, they've actually been sent on a real rocket to Mars, in the hopes that they won't worry as much and perform better if they think that they can leave at any time...
I might consider writing that!
(Or I'd sell it to Pixar.)
