You're right, the 505 does have ePub support. Apparently, it was added in firmware update 1.1.

I'm gonna try and get the guy to lower the price. I had actually been considering other devices* like the Sony Touch (too expensive), Kobo (too new and unproven), and was leaning heavily towards jetBook Lite. It's cheap, and doesn't have the refresh rate lag that exists on eInk displays. But the 505 is the only reader I've come across that has near universal praise. Plus, the PRS+ hack is supposed to make it even better, so I'll have to get that, too.

* Mainly because I didn't think I could find the 505 here, and getting it shipped from US would be too expensive.
