Those are not color reflective LCDs. Those are weakly backlit. Traditional color LCD designs have such poor light transmission that a rather strong backlight is needed.
Edit: I think I was wrong about at least one of those. The Game Gear for sure has a backlit screen, but after looking at some details of the GBA, it may well be a reflective screen with a frontlight.
Edit 2: Yeah. I spoke too soon about the Nintendo versions. They used frontlights with reflective screens until a later revision switched to a brighter backlit solution.
