In my experience, if you come at them slowly they tend to back away and try to move to the opposite side of the leaf more often than they jump away. This one was apparently distracted enough by the raindrops falling all around that he didn't pay much attention to me.

I saw him again today, this time one container over in my pitcher plants, and he had a fly. Kept wanting to back around out of my view, so I would stick a finger behind him to make him move back on my side. I spent a while harassing him to pose in more picturesque locations. This is possibly the best shot I got:
