okay, seriously, if everybody is doing it, i'm going to have to buy a new harddrive or two as well. (rubs hands together gleefully at the thought.)
hm, i'm really tempted. those dvd boxes take up ridiculous amounts of space, especially when you consider the size of their actual contents. it's just absurd. i do like the extras (when there are any, which is not always) but i could rip the extras too. i would have to look into codecs and such though since i've never done that before.
*sigh* if only i had a "less accessible place" to move mine to.

Over The Air recording is legal here (Betamax decision - 1984)...
I heard tell that ripping is just a matter of loading the software on a machine, dropping in a DVD, telling where on the harddrive to put the files and punching 2-3 buttons. But it may be a felony in your jurisdiction, (it is here)
