aagstn, I just got a JBL and my experience as far as book loading has been the same as yours. A ~1MB epub file on an SD card takes a long, long time to load. There also seems to be mobi/prc files which it cannot read even when the DRM is removed. But FBReader reproduces this problem with prc files, so that issue might not be unique to JBL.
