And now I read this web page that completely destroys the documentary's arguments. I'm not really surprised, but disappointed at Arte (again) for airing such historically dubious stuff. Entertaining though.
Those old silent films of Cecil B. DeMille were great! He was one of the first directors to recognize that you could get away with tons of sex, nudity and violence if the movie had a religious theme!
