I have to correct myself here. On close inspection of the iLiad I see the it does flash to black. It's so quick that until I watched it closely, I hadn't noticed it. The "sequence" when the turn the page on the iLiad is:
1. The screen blanks to white for, I'd guess, about 1/4 sec.
2. There' a VERY brief black "flash".
3. It goes back to white for perhaps another 1/4 sec.
4. The new page appears.
Apologies for the incorrect information - as I say, the "black" stage of the process on the iLiad is so rapid that I'd completely overlooked it.
