I grew up with a gun & no hunting ethic so I try not to kill anything these days. One unpleasant setback to that plan was living on an estate as a renter. The 4 plus acres had two formal gardens and an Olympic sized pool all shrubbed and landscaped 75 years earlier.
It was lovely and the rabbits thought the flowers delicious.
Then a new owner began "rabbit thinning" at his wife's insistence. He could hit a rabbit but rarely fatally. Maimed rabbits were all over the place.
I offered to take over his chore if he would stop. That summer alone over 100 rabbits died. I was relieved when they were transferred.
