I can't think of a better place to post this. Even though it does have to do with books and/or literature.

An author whom I greatly admire (but who shall remain nameless, for discretionary reasons), posted a huge long rant on her Facebook notes page tonight about how she writes Literature, not mysteries. Basically she dissed every mystery author out there, as if they were an inferior species, and she got really disparaging about Cozy mystery authors in particular. It made me mad; A. Because I've read this author's books, and they're great, but they are NOT Literature...they're well, mysteries. Sorry. And B. There is nothing in this world wrong with writing mysteries. There's nothing wrong with Cozy mysteries, and there's nothing wrong with having cats as characters in a mystery, (evidently another pet peeve of this woman).
