I could never give up my iPhone because I really do use the data plan when I'm out, to look up something quickly, locate something on the map, etc. And the apps I have in my iPhone that I use the most are ones I use exactly for the portability reason. They would be loads of fun on an iPad (those that have been modified for it yet that is), but completely unnecessary on a bigger device and not likely to be used all that much, except for the e-reader apps. I have about 8-10 apps as it is that I use regularly, and of that, maybe 5 that I truly use multiple times a week. And all are for quick access on the fly wherever I am. For an at home reader and surfer, I had wanted a convertible form factor with a pen/stylus, so I opted for the Asus T91MT. I think people get so fussy about this stuff. It's all a matter of what works for the person. And articles like what generated this topic are all the more marketing and exposure for Apple anyway, so it probably helps sales!
