Device: The Nook, Nook color and Droid X
mine is about 3 weeks old or so and havent' seen anything like that. Hmm could just be a random hiccup. Happens on my computer and just about any electronic device every now and then. My iPhone hiccups alot. I don't consider it choppy though.
