As the title states, I am a proud new Papa of the Nook. And I could not be happier, I am just in love with this thing. And if it wasn't for my wife bringing one home I would be a regretful owner of the kindle
I posted some of this in another sub forum but I will repeat here anyway
My co-worker was slowly wooing me into the dark side of e-books as I was a hold out of the "No, I love the feel of a real book" etc. He had the kindle. He would lend it to me during my lunch hours and downtimes. And I was convinced. Ok I can see this being a nice advantage and I really like e-ink.
So I was all set to put in my order. Then my wife came home with the Nook. Now i knew of it, since I am a Barnes and Noble junkie, but just really didn't pay much mind to it. so my wife brings one home and I start to play with it, order a book and order up the Boston Globe etc. It was love at first play

. the looks and the feel of it were light years ahead of the Kindle. I loved the color touch screen navigation. It was like using my iPhone on my e-reader. Just a really cool way to navigate through the menues.
So I was like 'OK", let me go back to my co-workers Kindle. Well I felt like I went through a time portal back to the 80's. The Kindle now felt like one of those handheld electronic games or like those hand held Soduko Electronic games.
It now felt 'ehh' as compared. The nook is sooooooo much more sexier, it has that really nice rubberized back etc. It looks and feels more high end.
So I went back and did some research. At first I became hesitant based on early reviews. Seemed buggy, slow and sluggish. But being in the Marketing industry and how electronic gadgets work now a days, Many are rushed to market whith firmware fixes to follow. This is actually very very common. Remember the first iPhone and all its bugs. Well I was very impressed that Barnes and Noble came out with 3 firmware updates and after the last one. v.1.3 this thing is rocking and rolling
