Just finished The Orange and the Green by GA Henty, the 19th Century English novelist. It's a fictional adventure/romance story set against a painstakingly researched factual account of the 17th Century struggle for Ireland. Anyone who believes this was a simple Catholic-v-Protestant war, will find that it's much more than that.

The book's a free download from MR and is beautifully presented -- many, many thanks to Crutledge for his hard work on this one.

Highly recommended to lovers of fact-based historical fiction. Cheers. Neil
