Hi Alex,

I am not an expert, but here are a few open-source PDF libraries/tools I found through googling:

ReportLab Toolkit
Pdftk
PDFtools (download here, here and here and here)
Python pdftools
Python pdffile

Of course there is always the option to point users to the demo download page of pdf-tools should we continue to use the existing program modules (pdcat, pdinfo)
