I can't narrow it down either, no way. But today I'm going to go with A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole.

It's not what I usually read or write (I'm more of a historical espionage/crime noir thriller kind of guy) but I'm fascinated by this book because it doesn't seem to work and yet does.

Otherwise, I'd go with the better books by Graham Greene, Elmore Leonard, Patricia Highsmith ... Okay, I'll stop. I had to pick one.
