There used to be a big spider next to the basement door. It was as big as a walnut. The kids being young were terrorized. So I named the spider Victoria and taught the kids what her task was. I caught one of the ugly centipedes Victoria feasted upon and showed it to them. Then they knew. They still were scared but respectful. Afterwards they took a long cleaning plume to safely catch spiders and put them outside.
