Hmmm, once you input the date and time, you can use the unit just fine though?
Can you navigate to the settings in the menu and see what it shows for the date and time there?


But it does sound like you're going to have to exchange the unit, if a reset doesn't fix it, you have very little other options available to you at this point. To me it sounds like a hardware defect. Either a bad flash memory chip thats not doing writes/reads properly, or borked reset circuitry/logic that's triggering a clear of these flip-flops/registers when it shouldn't
