A bit of confusion, I meant that if your library isn't showing they own the title, that it would be nice if I, as a collection development librarian, at said librarian, could know that my patron would like to check out said ebook if the library purchased it.

But you raise another important point. A couple of the big publishers (I know Macmillan for sure) still refuse to license their ebooks to libraries at all. In other words, just because a person can purchase an ebook for their own use, it doesn't mean that it is purchasable by a library for lending.
