It's not a surprise to me that Calibre opened it properly (although there are cases it just crashes due to some punctuations in the text).
I can also confirm that AZARDI, FBReader, EPUBReader add on for Firefox and Stanza on the iPhone/iPod handle Hebrew ePub properly.

PocketBook and the iPad are the only devices I can confirm that deal with Hebrew properly (although the iPad displays the pages in the wrong order while viewing in horizontal mode)

I guess I can add now the EZ reader to the black list...
