Don't be so sure, pphilipp. The Archos devices have a huge community built around modifying archos devices already, and they are all just itching to get their hands on the home tablet 7, they have already hacked the Archos 5 to have access to the android marketplace for example ( archosfans.com is their site). In fact one of them just this week got Android 2.1 running on the Archos 5.

And with the battery life issue, this device is going to be hugely popular with the gadget hackers, as so many previous Archos devices have been. Archos has never tried to shut out that community, so they have a pretty strong following among them.
