I quit about 15 years ago. My mother had a cancer relapse and I told her I'd quit with her. I quit - she didn't.

I used a product that was basically a giant cigarette filter. It was the same size as a normal cigarette, but was all filter. I put a couple in an empty pack and carried them around with me. Whenever I wanted a cigarette, I put one in my mouth and hit on it. It felt right, but I was only sucking air. It really got me through all those daily triggers that prompted a smoke.
