I think the red sticker is double sided tape. I took the leather flap off and put velcro on the cover and the reader. It works OK. But you don't want to put the velcro on what I assume is the battery cover. It nearly pulled the battery cover off when I tried to remove the reader from its cover.
I'm still looking for something better.
