Both work. TOC depends a little on the format but works for PDF, ePUB, Mobi, DOC, FB2 formats for sure. PDF and ePUB even support multi-level TOC. Mobi does also but its method is different. In Mobi to jump to the TOC entry inside the book itself.

EZ Reader can be the target of checked out books in PDF and ePUB formats using the current firmware.
