Y le T,

We had a furniture repair guy give us an estimate on fixing some furniture. I know it's not really your area... but close.

He said it would be around $300 to fix and repair some upholstery on our leather sofa that has those built in foot rests that pop-up from the little thingy on the side.

I don't think it was worth the money... so might be getting a new sofa. Can you tell me...

1. Do you think a sofa without the built in foot rests would last longer because they are less complex?

2. Does brand really matter as far as the best made? For example, Lazy-Boy seems so much more expensive that stuff you see a Sears. Granted, I'm sure a $200 sofa is not very well built... Any brands you would recommend.

OH.. what I am doing... trying to determine if a furniture purchase is in my future.

When can you come visit me and build a custom wall unit around our fireplace that can hold our TV.... speakers... DVDs/Video Games and of course some books?
