A friend form Chicago commented that voters there mostly expect thier politicians to at least be amusing. He cited the case of a state assemblyman accused by a newspaper of graft, racketeering, and other high crimes and misdemeanors. He sent off an outraged reply that never mentioned the other charges, but vehemently denied the claim he actually lived in a different district than the one he represented. "You take that back! I'm not from (yuck!) there..."
