Quit last year and I'd been smoking for around 20 years. First three days are horrible, but believe me it gets better after that. Think of your cravings as nothing more than hunger pangs that can be safely ignored. Get some lollipops. And every time you think of having a smoke.. picture that cigarette as a rolled up fifty thousand pound note that you're burning.

(P.S. I was chain smoking near enough a hundred rolled cigarettes a day before I quit, so it's completely manageable. My father quit when he was sixty after smoking for fifty years too. He's been smoke free for near enough ten years now.)
