it was water under the bridge... why we can laugh at the hackneyed "slip on a banana peel". I related the story the way I did because in retrospect I know it had to be hysterical. we were working on a residential street in a fairly rural town so there is no doubt that there were innocent "civilians" watching. indeed my coworkers and I derived many a chuckle over beer telling the story, and I became a bit of a phone company legend.
