I think that the "average" Nook owner is not the posting type - more the book reading type. And the Nook is ideal for just reading books. As for me, I love to tinker, and particularly with Android.

Having said that, I initially softrooted 1.3 but it seemed very buggy - my WiFi kept skipping in and out (has been rock solid before softroot and I ultimately went back to unrooted and WiFi is again rock solid. I didn't see a lot of advantage and except for Trook, I like my Nook "as-is" and I hope B&N keeps improving updates - having had several Sony's, an Aztak Pocket Pro and an Archos A5IT I believe the Nook is the best of the lot!

And this board is tops also.
