Native Guard - Natasha Trethewey

WOW! I purchased this Poetry Collection on a whim (to get free shipping from Amazon). It won the Pulitzer Prize in 2007.

It focuses on the Civil War and Race including that of the author herself.

from wikipedia: Trethewey states that her book Native Guard "represents the idea that I am a native guardian to the memory of my mother’s life"

Not quite sure what to say other than Incredible. If you have any interest it the topic itself this collection will blow you away.

Actually available as an ebook though I purchased the p-book used (as I typically do with poetry and non-fiction).
