All the Pretty Horses (1992)
The Crossing (1994)
Cities of the Plain (1998)

and I would start from the beginning as the stories intertwine. All three are IMHO absolute masterpieces and have left an unforgettable trace in my spirit. There is the powerful nature of the region and its proud inhabitants: West Texas, New Mexico, and beyond the Border, the cruel, sanguine, sweet, magic and philosophical Mexico, Sonora and Chihuahua. North and South. Modern and Ancient. Civilized and Primitive, Pride and Compassion. Fairness and Cruelty. And where Humanity and Wisdom reside? With the humbles. The three novels are stories of passages through these contrasting entities, and they chant the passage from boyhood to adulthood, from dream to reality. Some blood must be shed.

There is room for marvel, tenderness and passion. Unstoppable passion being the force the drives all the characters through these adventures.

Having understood the poetic of the great master through these three books, one can achieve the full enjoyment of the last two novels

No Country for Old Men (2005)
The Road (2006)

the last being again an absolute masterpiece.

I really hope that you choose these books.
That you Beppe, I will keep your recommendation in mind. For now I have decided this would be too much for the state my brain is reduced to right now, but after my cold is over I will look for those books.
