Tags are amazing. I use them, aside from identifying books by topic, etc., to mark those I've already processed (edited metadata, etc.), those that go to my Reader's main memory, those that go to the SD card, those that shouldn't go to the reader at all (big PDFs with squinty type), and so on.
When I was giving a friend an SD card full of good books to use with his new 505, I just went through and tagged all the ones I thought he'd like (and, of course, that I could legally give him), then loaded just that batch on the card. I've kept the tag, so that if other friends with similar interests (I have several) get ebook readers of their own, their instant libraries will be all ready to go.
