I'm revising the sequel to Xenolith (18 chapters done, but Chapter 19 is the most dreadful gibberish),
I am also currently "un-writing" a novel called Lethe. In January, I started with 185,000 words. Now, I'm down to 117,000 and falling, with large sections of de novo material added. Its like sculpting clay. Hack a chunk off here, add a glob there. This one's going easier than the sequel so I use this as a respite from revising Peregrin.
I might use this strategy in the future: writing two novels at once to help clear my mental palate. I have my next two lined up.
