Cybook Opus - Display problem

Hello,

I have acquired a Cybook Opus in December 2009, and although I have not used it intensively, I have been quite satisfied with this very useful - albeit expensive product. It has relieved me from the burden of reading ebooks from a computer screen, or from wasting paper and time printing them out.

Turns out that yesterday, after some days of inactivity, I decided to read a book on my device. Everything seemed normal (splash screen, loading process, filesystem navigation) exception made to the screen: it now presents very thin stripes, regularly spaced, across the entirety of the screen.

I attempted to reset it, without success. Later on, I checked it and the stripes disappeared. Today, I attempted to turn it on - and the stripes weren't there. I connected it to my computer, uploaded some books with Calibre, and then disconnected it from the usb - and the stripes appeared again.

I would think it could be a problem with the computer-ebook reader interaction, but as I said, the first time the stripes appeared was after a long time of inactivity - I hadn't plugged the device to the computer in several weeks.

Is this a common problem, easily solvable, or is it a hardware problem, and requires sending the device to Bookeen? If so, what could be the source of the problem?

Thanks in advance!
