Many book stores don't separate for that reason.

I discovered a series of stories with a SF theme hat are marketed as Romance.
If it was not for the recommendations online, I might never bother to get the first one... It was not shelved in the SF section
OTOH, I read another book in the SF section, by a popular author, that I considered P*rn.
