If you have a similar situation to me, in which you bought LRX protected files on the Sony site, and now want to read them on other readers you DO have an option.
I found that when you log in to the Sony site now allows you to re-download the files in the ePub file format. Once you have done this, you can then remove the DRM utilizing the commonly available Python scripts such as ineptepub (google it)
