Steve Jobs claims to be a perfectionist, but puts out a product that is crippled in several ways (e.g., no direct USB mounting, non-interoperable file system). Those who criticize Apple on this board are not all one-sided. You'll note that many multi-device users have criticized the shortcomings of all the e-readers they happen to own. Being realists, we try to enjoy each product for its merits. The iPad has proven itself to be useful in my line of work. My K2 gives me the ability to buy ebooks at prices usually lower than the competition. I look forward to buying the next generation Kindle DX, when/if it supports PDF zoom. In one family, you can own many cars (Honda Civic, Corvette, and Land Rover), each with different functionality. Same rule applies to e-readers. Naturally, there are many members on this forum who are gadget junkies. Like people who adopt several pets, they are endlessly fascinated by multiplicity and diversity.
