Fruit Bats/Flying Foxes eat fruit, and to build a "house" for them would require the work of an architect (they're rather large). We get them in our palm trees when the trees are fruiting, at least until the local ringtail possum comes and chases them out (possums pack a temper over territory). They've been visiting the rear neighbour's house lately - you can hear them by their big, dull wingbeats and their somewhat clumsy landings and takeoffs crashing through the trees.
