From what I have seen, nothing in the upcoming 'announced iPad killer' category is going to be able to compete with the iPad's battery life. I get 10+ hours with mine between charges (quite a bit more with wifi turned off) and I haven't seen much to make me think that anyone will be able to compete with this spec for a while.
Of course the iPad batteries are not easily user replacable which is a major downside to the whole thing!
