Glare is the one thing. You can handle it or you don't like it.

Reading with appropriate lighting is the key. Low light is working depending on font size, but then again, no one would read his newspaper at night with the lights off
Dim light may work on real print and be a little worse for ereaders with touch layer, but if you have to have the light on anyways, why not turn it up a little?
