I think the most fast food joints should be responsible for is possibly posting the nutrition information for the foods they offer, so the public can make an informed decision. That's it!
I agree with the man in the article: "Take control of your 3-year olds, parents."
On a side note: I would much rather have a universal ordinance that ALL eating establishments are required to post, in a conspicuous place, like at the front door, the last FDA inspection date of the premises as well as the score received and what they were sited for if the score was less than PERFECT. That way I could make a more informed decision as to whether I would REALLY like to eat there or not. How about THAT?
