It was purchased for me by a relative. NewEgg said nothing about DRM at the time, and the purchaser wouldn't have known what it all meant anyway.

As I said, it was a gift from a loving family member that did some research on the product and had even read other reviews about the product stating the same thing; if it isn't purchased through ecTaco, they won't help.

Thanks for the link. I've been to a few of those sites, and some of the free ones. Didn't know where to find additional trusted sites.

The emails from them say to email my serial number (which I've done 4 times in the last 3 months), and have not received a response to ~those~ emails. I also called the phone number provided and left a detailed message on the vmail box. Name, phone number, email address, even home address. That was in February.

I understand that it's no big deal, and that it is to be expected to not get the full services/support when buying through a secondary vendor, but it just doesn't seem right. It is, however, the only 'complaint' I have about my jB; in the future, the purches will be made directly from the manufacturer if possible.
