Agreed. I doubt it has anything to do with the size of the battery.
Whether they're still working on a "hibernate" mode for the DR1000, I don't know. The only thing I've seen from them is that they are planning on it for a future release, I haven't seen anything from them that states that's no longer the case. I would assume they're still planning on it.
