Interesting, you only mention Takei and not Shatner and Nimoy.
When I said "I hope it's no too much", it was because of the sexual content of the joke, not because I think this is something agains't homosexuality or George Takei. There's so many "hetero" jokes, with which we may be open, but "homo" jokes are still somewhat taboo. I'm sure Takei wouldn't take this joke badly.
Or not as much as a lawyer who hears lawyer's jokes, blondes and so on. Those can be very nasty and unfair.
