you know.. I think "save the planet" is a misnomer. No matter what happens the earth will survive. What people that say "save the planet" are really saying is "save the ability for the planet to maintain human's". After all... that is really the selfish goal of the "green" movement... as couched it is in words like "save the planet".
I think we should change the slogan... it may even get more peoples attention too:
Go Green... save the human race.
