Well, the title says it all.

I imagine I'll be posting mainly on the alex ereader threads, but thought I'd introduce myself. Love cats, books, knitting, family, not necessarily in that order. I live in N.C. and have been cringing at the bizarre behavior of recent southern politicians. Not much more to say about myself. I'm a reader like you all, and can't imagine going a day without opening some book. When I had insomnia last fall, and my doctor recommended I not read before I go to sleep, I looked at him like he was crazy. Needless to say I ignored his advice, though I did put more sedate reading by my bedside (which is piled up with various books).
I've been thinking about getting an ereader since the Kindle first came out, and I decided it was time to get one this year before summer travel. I've been waiting for the Spring Design Alex because it just seemed a good fit. It arrived last week and here I am.
Only thing non-alex I have to add is how fun it is to travel with light reading. I'm a fast reader, so when I choose a book to travel with, I try to find something I'll read more slowly, so it will last. The problem is that when one is tired, one wants a light book to read. Having an ereader is lovely.
Also, of course I've been downloading the classics, and somehow they seem much more fresh and accessible on a clear page, in a normal sized font, rather than some dusty tome with tiny print and thin pages. I know we readers go on and on about the experience of holding a book, but some books are not enjoyable to read in printed form!
Well, that's all for now. Off to the alex threads!
