That's a lot of .imp files.
I created a program/tool called
deimp which can extract the text (but will loose all formatting and hyperlinks) within your .imp files, but only if they are non-DRM i.e. not encrypted. It will convert an entire directory tree of .imp files with one invocation of the included Microsoft batch file program called "extract text from imp files.bat". I think it could be made to work with Linux or Mac OS X.
Deimp will also extract the images, but does not retain their place within the text file (it marks it though with "
|^|")). It was written with the primary goal of being able to salvage your .imp files if you moved onto a different/incompatible ebook platform.
Once you have the text files, then feed those to calibre and you are all set.
You may also want to try a program called
ConvertIMPGUI, which can create a more visually appealing .html extracted file (with hyperlinks and images intact) as its output.
If you want to explore this further or have any other .imp-related questions, feel free to post in the
IMP E-Book Formats subgroup.
