From nosing around in the firmware the Cool-ER and the Booq look compatible.
Some of the stuff is very stock Netronix, including the Sudoku and the music player.

The biggest differences are that the Booq reader application is about 15mb bigger than the Cool-ER one, and there seem to be a whole host of additional menus and interface stuff, including the dictionary application.

Their 1.0 version of the firmware was apparently linked to the 1.12.6 version of the reader, but I can't see anything about which version the 2.0 firmware is.
